THE NIGHT THAT FALLS

The shimmering day passes quietly
Falling from beside those hills
From my window I can see
The fire sun that no longer burns but stills
The gentle breeze whispering so tenderly
The daily songs of nature that goes to rest
The sleeping birds so gently
Gathering together on their nests
The wind seems to stop now and then
When the light sky goes to sleep
Red coloured clouds stand still
And a gently breeze wisps
The dark night starts to fall
Covering my known world
Raising the stars upon the sky
Wakening the night musicians
Crickets and other insects
Give my night some tenderness
And I prepare myself to rest
To awake after for one more day
Each time that the night falls
Seems my dreams so so far away
And a strong calm give me strength
And I fear nothing now and then
The world turns round and round again
I feel it in the palm of my hand
I turn to the sky and I see the moon
The LORD companion by night
And I praise and dream to be soon
In his company this night
I feel very light and I start to fly
In the direction of the stars
I can imagine this flight
So intense… so bright… upon the sky…
And I dream once more this day
Each time the night goes by
And I close my eyes again
To awake after for one eternal day
In the LORD’s companion for one more night…
